Sync Faster + Save Space with Prospect 2.9

Posted by Leah Kovach on Feb 27, 2020

Here at IrisVR, we’re always looking for new and creative ways to empower you with intuitive tools that seamlessly integrate into your design review meetings.

We have a ton of major updates coming up this year, and our latest release builds the foundation for a lot of those changes.

In addition to several behind-the-scenes updates, we're launching Selective download today!

What's "Selective Download"?

Selective download gives users a greater degree of control over which projects & files sync to a computer - you're now able to individually select the files you want downloaded to your PC.

Selective download speeds up sync times, saving you disk space and making it easier to set up Prospect prior to a big presentation or meeting. It also gives you greater security and control over what's on your VR computer.

Now, when you open Prospect, you're able to choose which files you want to download to your PC when you first sign into your account. Unselected files show up as grey; they remain at your disposal and can be downloaded when you want them

How do I use Selective Download?

You can choose a single file from a project to be downloaded immediately, or use control+select or shift+select to choose specific files or a group of files that will begin to sync. The progress bar will indicate the loading status of each file.

At any point, you can remove downloaded files from your PC.

Other Updates

There are a lot of behind-the-scenes updates in 2.9 that help make your VR experiences better than ever before. We've made several syncing stability improvements, optimized our Revit and Navisworks integrations for better processing, and also added support for SketchUp 2020.

If you have any questions or thoughts on this release, let us know in the comments! We'd love to hear from you.
